“To be honest,” {text:child_name} said, “I was so scared I banged the chili pot so hard I put a dent in it.”
That’s when Ranger Miller handed {text:child_name} a small Junior Ranger patch and said, “Being brave doesn’t mean you’re not afraid. It means you remember what to do when fear shows up.”
As the group packed up the car, Leo laughed. “Well, I hope the bear took dessert to its next stop. I bet he likes his marshmallows toasted.”
{text:child_name} climbed into the back seat, feeling a little taller. Last night’s adventure with the Midnight Marauder had taught them all something important.
Courage wasn’t about being the strongest or the loudest. Sometimes courage was simply staying calm when everyone else was scared.
And sometimes... it sounded a lot like a metal pot and spoon in the middle of the night.
